About Matt Czajkowski

I grew up near Cambridge, Massachusetts, and after serving for four years in the U.S. Navy as an enlisted man during the Vietnam (and draft) era, I attended Harvard College and Harvard Business School. Subsequently, I was an investment banker, primarily with Goldman Sachs in New York City and Tokyo. I am blessed to have been married to my wife Jill for the last twenty years and to have two wonderful sons, eleven and fifteen. We moved to Chapel Hill for one reason and that was the quality of life. No job, nor family, nor friends lured us here. We happened upon Chapel Hill and immediately fell in love with it, and like many people, made the decision to move. We loved it so much that, subsequently, my parents moved from Florida to join us!

During these years in Chapel Hill, I have been the Chief Financial Officer of Pozen, a public biotech company based in Chapel Hill and am currently in a similar position with Aldagen, a biotech company which is making extraordinary advancements in regenerative medicine. I am also working with a solar energy company founded by several UNC scientists that has a technology that can produce electricity at costs equivalent to current carbon based sources (which is the key consideration for broad adoption of alternative energy).
